Weekend Friend: Finnegan the Frog

Several years ago, I found the CUTEST stuffed frog at an airport gift shop.  (You can purchase your own frog HERE.)  I knew that I wanted to use it as my class "weekend friend"!  I found many useful sample letters and ideas online.  I created my letter based on a "Boris the Bear" example I had found, but cannot find the original link anywhere.  If you know who deserves the credit for this, please let me know!  This was before blogging, TpT, and Pinterest became popular, so it's been tough to hunt down the source.  I created a handful of items to go along with my frog, but have just updated and condensed everything into one file to share!  Here it is!

  1. I was going to do something similar to this in my room, but worried about the animal being lost or damaged. Do you have any kind of replacement policy, or do you just plan on replacing the stuffy yourself if it's ruined?

  2. That's always a concern of mine too. This will be my third year doing it and I haven't had an issue yet (knock on wood). I don't have a policy, but guess I just have (high) hopes that I would be reimbursed by the family if something were to happen to it. I do send home a "permission slip" at the beginning of the year where it gives parents the chance to opt out if they feel that it is too much of a responsibility. I hope this helps! Thanks for the comment! :)

  5. Love this! I've thought about doing a classroom buddy, and since my classroom theme is frogs, this is PERFECT! Now, to choose from the plethora of stuffed frogs already in my possession... :)
